I am announcing today that I will not be seeking re-election in the 2024 municipal election.

The opportunity to represent the residents of Ward 2 for the last eight years has been a true honour. I am grateful to every person who I have had the opportunity to work alongside to build a stronger and more equitable Saskatoon.

Our city is progressing in many ways: by addressing aging infrastructure, improving sustainability, expanding active transportation networks, modernizing our transit system, and building a new central library, to name a few. I am proud to have supported efforts to achieve progress in these areas and on these projects. I am also proud of the work to evolve our approach to civic work, particularly by more consistently embedding equity considerations into our decisions.

I am grateful to every neighbour and community partner who has reached out to engage about challenges and opportunities in our community. Learning from and working with you has been a privilege. The care for our community that I see in everyday interactions with residents across Ward 2 is deep.

The work of Civic leadership is both challenging and rewarding. It has been my good fortune to work alongside this deeply committed civic administration and Council.

Thank you.

Hilary Gough
